I am still on a break as I decide if it becomes feasible to move the practice to another country. . My partner Jonathan (www.studiojdavis.com) was artist-in-residence with one organisation in Berlin last year and is again artist-in-residence with another gallery this year. It culminates in a show in December and it is good to take a step back and watch another’s star rise.
2019 has been a great year, the highlight being an invitation from Dorling Kindersley (or the Penguin Group/Random House) to be part of Complete Pottery Techniques, published in August. I wrote the section on Reduction Firing and also contributed to many other parts of the book. I was then invited to be part of the gallery at the end of the book.
My work continues to be sold at the Highgate Contemporary Art gallery in north London, Frivoli in west London and Gallery Top in the Peak District. I am working on a body of sculptural work which will concentrate on simple, line-oriented forms that will gain their identity from their size and texture. I’ll keep this section of the website updated from time to time.
